Public Wi‑Fi is convenient, but it belongs to someone else. You do not know who set up the access point, whether the sign-in page is genuine, or who else is on that network.
What you can do right away
- Turn Contact on before you open email or banking.
- Do not enter passwords on pages that look suspicious.
- If you doubt the network, use mobile internet.
- Do not leave the device unattended while it is on a shared network.
Contact’s role
Contact does not replace caution. It protects data on the path from your device to its network. On guest Wi‑Fi this lowers the risk that the network owner or other users can view the information. It is not an antivirus and not a check of the website itself.
